Unraveling the Water-Energy-Food-Environment Nexus for Climate Change Adaptation in Iran: Urmia Lake Basin Case-Study

A holistic approach to the management of water, energy, food, and environment is required both meet socioeconomic demands future as well sustainable development these limited resources. The Urmia Lake Basin has faced environmental, social, economic challenges in recent years, this situation likely worsen under impacts climate change. For study, an adaptability analysis region proposed for 2040 horizon year. Two models, water evaluation planning (WEAP (Stockholm Environmental Institute, Stockholm, Sweden)) low emissions platform (LEAP Boston, MA, USA)), are integrated simulate changes over 20 years. scenarios nine policy combined assess using a multi-criteria decision (MCDA) approach.
